Info Desk
Many resources are located at the Student Center Information Desk (713) 348-4096 staffed by Rice Students. They provide patrons with both Rice and non-Rice information and are always willing to help answer your questions. Various schedules and Rice maps are available at the desk as well as other services below.
Magazines and Games
The Information Desk has a variety of magazines and games to check out. Exchange your Rice ID to for a game or magazine and pick up your ID when you return the item. See the policies and procedures for checking out games and a list of the available games here.
Mail Services
The Information Desk sells both stamps and regular envelopes. Stamped mail or campus mail can be dropped off in the box in front of the Information Desk.
Lost & Found
Lost and Found items may be taken to the Information Desk. After 60 days, items left in the Lost and Found are donated to local Houston charities.
Postage Stamps
A maximum of ten postage stamps may be purchased at the Information Desk. For larger quantities, individuals may purchase them from Delivery Services (located behind Rice University Police Department, close to University Blvd. and Stockton). Envelopes are also available for sale for $0.25 ea.
Poster/Flyer Approval
The staff at the Information Desk will assist patrons in locating public boards (near Rice Coffeehouse) to post their Rice University related flyers. We do not accept any advertisements.
Telephones
The Information Desk telephone is not available for public use; however, there are phones located throughout the building for patrons' use. If a car service (shuttle, taxi, etc.) is desired, the Information Desk attendant will call one for you.
Tickets
Tickets for Rice Program Council (RPC) and Passport to Houston events are sold at the Information Desk (often at a discount). Tickets for RPC events require a valid Rice student ID.
