Committee Structure
The Student Homecoming Committee is a student board created to coordinate a series of events and programs during Homecoming Week. The committee will be led by a chair, co-chair and consist of 4 sub committees. The committee will operate under the guidance of Petre Freeman, the Associate Director of Campus Events in the Student Center. Work will be divided into focus groups on the following areas of specialization: advertising & residential college contact, food, activities and the homecoming court. Committee members will collaborate within the subcommittees and committee as a whole. Each committee will consist of two-three members.
Mission Statement
To increase student interest and engagement in Rice Athletics, we aim to plan a week of homecoming events that will draw an increased number of students by drawing upon residential college pride and focusing it into Rice spirit. Our planning will focus on incentivising students to not only come but to stay for the duration of the events. We hope to measure our success by sending out satisfaction surveys and monitoring attendance through food/activity usage.
